Not that any of you care, but these West Coast road trips are my least favourite part of the season. Assuming my kids sleep through the night — which is a big if — I'm getting five hours sleep max tonight. At least the Lakers game delivered in terms of entertainment value. If the Raptors lose to the Kings tonight, no amount of entertainment will make up for my bitterness at losing sleep for this.
Start time: 10:00pm ET
Channel: The Score
Probable starting lineups
Toronto: Jarrett Jack, DeMar DeRozan, Hedo Turkoglu, Chris Bosh, Andrea Bargnani
Sacramento: Tyreke Evans, Beno Udrih, Donte Greene, Carl Landry, Spencer Hawes
Five questions
1. Are the Kings going to be the next Thunder? They've already got two stud rookies in Tyreke Evans and Omri Casspi, and they're about to get another high pick in the next draft. There's something to be said for flat-out sucking for a few years and accumulating young talent (assuming you're not the Clippers or Warriors).
2. While his rebounds per game figure is currently 4.9, did you know that Evans could end the season as the only player besides Oscar Robertson, Michael Jordan and LeBron James to average 20 points, five assists and five rebounds in his rookie season?
3. Not that I'm an avid NCAA hoops follower, but how in the hell did mediocre Kings reserve forward Jon Brockman land a Sports Illustrated cover in 2006?
4. Is it finally time for Chris Bosh to add the three-point shot to his offensive arsenal? He went 2-for-2 last night and is 8-for-18 on the season from that range.
5. Are you starting to get a little freaked out that the Raptors are just a game-and-a-half ahead of ninth place Chicago in the East?
